Here are some quick answers to some of the most common queries that come our way.

  • The GC 400 can efficiently operate a cold room with a capacity of up to 20 MT, with dimensions of 22 ft x 12 ft x 9 ft (2376 cubic feet). The unit can also manage two separate cold rooms with a partition wall, allowing for customised temperature variations within each room as needed. The set up can be further customised to meet specific requirements.

  • The shelf-life of produce stored in a cold room varies depending on the commodity, as each type requires specific pre-treatment, storage conditions, and handling processes. Our dedicated team provides on-field training to end-users on comprehensive post-harvest management practices, ensuring optimal shelf-life and quality for each and every commodity.

  • GreenCHILL™ can serve the purpose of ripening, dehydration, pre-cooling and can be customised for process cooling, ice production, mushroom-growing chambers, hydroponic setups, and milk chilling centres.

  • We can maintain a temperature range from +2°C to +25°C, allowing for the storage of a wide variety of fruits, vegetables, flowers, spices, herbs, grains, and pulses. Our dedicated post-harvest management team provides comprehensive support to ensure optimal storage conditions and product quality after installation.

  • For installation, we require a level platform at ground level (0-0) and a protective shed, which are to be provided by the customer. Approximately 550 square feet of space is needed for a 20 MT setup. A detailed layout will be provided after a site visit by our Service Engineer.

  • During installation, we fabricate the cold room and integrate the GreenCHILL™ unit. When relocating to another site, the cold room and piping must be dismantled, and the GreenCHILL™ unit is transported with the help of a crane.

  • Operating a 20 MT cold room requires 50-100 kg of biomass per day, and consumes 8-12 units of single-phase electricity daily. The daily operating cost varies based on biomass consumption and price.

    • The system is regulated by PLC and any kind of leakage can be easily detected by physical smell. R717 (Ammonia) has a strong odour that can be detected even at low concentrations, providing a clear warning. This allows for quick identification and repair of leaks.

    • DX Evaporator: GreenCHILL™ uses the DX evaporator which reduces ammonia charge by 50 times as compared to flooded evaporator. This reduction in ammonia charge mitigates any risk.

  • GreenCHILL™ uses the natural refrigerant R717 which has Zero ODP (Ozone Depletion Potential) & Zero GWP (Global Warming Potential). Thus, there are zero carbon emissions and our GreenCHILL™ 400 & 2000 series have the ability to save 40 Tons & 200 Tons of carbon emissions per annum respectively. No other refrigerants will be used.

  • We do use industry-grade 80 mm PUF Panel (continuous panel), with PPGI sheets having puff density of 40 Kg/M3. Internal and external flashing is provided.

  • GreenCHILL™ is applicable for various central and state government sponsored schemes. Please refer to the Achievement section for more details.

  • We offer comprehensive post-harvest management training at the farmgate, with our service team providing both on-field and virtual technical support until the user is fully-trained and their issues are resolved.

Additionally, we provide evidence-based references to validate the availability of biomass resources, ensuring informed decision-making.

  • Absolutely, the conventional compressor-run systems can be replaced with our Biomass-powered GreenCHILL™ technology, enabling you to start saving on operating costs from day one.

  • We offer expert guidance on selecting the right products for storage, determining ideal temperature ranges, and setting realistic shelf-life expectations. Our dedicated post-harvest management Field Coaches and support team are there to assist you every step of the way.

  • Temperature range: +2 to +25°C

GreenCHILL™, GC 400 would be suitable for a cold room of 20 MT single chamber or two cold rooms of 10 MT capacity each.

GC 2000 can cater to a cold room up to 200 MT; two cold rooms of 100 MT each, or four cold rooms of 50 MT each, with the ability to maintain separate temperature at each of the cold rooms.
